Market streets The Christmas market is rather like the Cologne described in the Heinzelmännchen poem. Everywhere, the sound of hammering and banging can be heard as traditional craftsmen from the whole of Europe demonstrate their skills to the public. The craftsmen are also joined by experienced market traders, offering a range of selected goods of especially high quality. To help everybody easily find their way about and not miss anything, the market is grouped into themed streets.
